At Deerah, we believe that traditional Palestinian hand embroidery Tatreez is a superior form of artistry and a beautiful means of connection to our homeland and heritage. 

Not only is it extremely intricate and beautiful, but it is also a movement against fast fashion and unnecessary waste caused by the fashion industry.  

Hand embroidered pieces were traditionally made over a span of months or even years and passed down from generation to generation. 

To honor all these aspects, we ensure to provide the highest level of quality and produce our pieces ethically.

Besides custom hand-embroidery which Deerah has delivered since 2021, now you can design a custom machine-embroidered piece.

 

1) Consultation Call

In your consultation call we will talk about all design aspects including but not limited to;

• Event type or theme. We design for wedding, engagement, Henna, nikkah, katb ktab and more 
• Your desired silhouette & design 
• Your preferred fabric and color palettes

• Embroidery type and placement
• Motifs. This includes thread color palette and meaning/symbols you would like to incorporate in your design
• Accessories (hand-embroidered shawls, headpieces, etc.) 

2) Design Process

After the consultation call, our team puts together a rough sketch of the design. 

In the event that a detailed design is required before proceeding with the first 50% down payment, an additional design fee of $350 shall be paid in advance. Upon receipt of this payment, we will provide a complete tech pack, which includes:

1.  A detailed illustration for both front and back
2. A technical drawing for both front and back
3. Actual motif design with specified colors
4. Embroidered fabric swatch
   

This fee is non-refundable and separate from the price mentioned in this proposal (page 6).

If a fabric swatch is required before proceeding with the 50% down payment or if a tech pack is not required, the cost is $45 for a non-embroidered sample and $85 for an embroidered sample.

Design changes are priced according to complexity & time needs. The first minor change is free.

 

 

3) Implementation

If you choose to go with hand-embroidery, it's worth mentioning that it's done by Palestinian refugees in Jordan in our efforts to ensure sustainable income and the continuity of Tatreez. 

Hand-embroidery production time varies depending on the amount of embroidery. For machine-embroidery, it usually takes from 1-2 months depending on our production schedule & the amount of embroidery. After embroidery is finished, your design will be assembled, dry cleaned and packed for shipping.

Deerah is not responsible for lost packages. Customers have the option to add a signature requirement for secure delivery at an additional fee of $50.
